Best Golf Swing Analysers – The Only 3 You Should Consider Buying
Golf swing analyzers are becoming one of the most popular training aids used by your every day golfer. Pro golfers analyze every aspect of their swing, why shouldn’t you. I’m not saying we need to analyze it with with a fine tooth comb but there’s plenty of benefits of knowing how your swinging the golf club. I’m here to help you find the best golf swing analyzer for you.
Best Golf Swing Analysers
There’s so many reasons why golfers are looking for golf swing analysers to fine tune their swings. But what do golf these golf swing sensors ‘analyse’ exactly? I’m going to go through what they do here.
Swing Path
Swing path is often times one of the main issues with any amateur golfer swing, leading to large slices or the dreaded snap hook. These are often caused by out to in or in to out swing paths.
Some of the best golf swing analysers are brilliant at spotting errors in swing path almost immediately.
For example, the SkyCaddie SkyPro (SP Link) will replay your swing in detail and highlight the key issues to address in your swing path. It’s technology offers easy to follow swing analysis that also shows you how to fix the errors.
Know What Your Doing Right & Wrong
When you are hitting the ball well and playing consistent golf, it’s probably one of the best feelings in the world. When the confidence is high, you can just step up to the ball and feel comfortable. However, as we all know that’s not always the case when it comes to golf.
Have you ever been in a position where you keep slicing, hooking or maybe blocking the golf ball and you have no idea why? Often times you end up doing more harm than good trying to fix things yourself and will need to seek professional help with golf lessons.
But, do you need professional help all the time? Definitely not. For example, let’s say you slice the ball. By using a golf swing analyzer, it might show you that your swing path is very out to in during your take away.
Wolla! You know what you’re doing wrong. Now you can follow some basic drills to fix it. No matter what pro you go to for lessons, they will likely all use the same few quick fix drills
Some of the best swing analyzers will then show you how to fix the issue. A few simple easy to follow drills that will have you hitting the ball straighter in no time. The FlightScope Mevo is brilliant at doing this.
Tempo
Every see the pros on TV hitting the golf balls. They seem to hit the ball so smoothly and controlled but get insane club head speed. How so? Tempo.
Great tempo in a golf swing is one of the best habits you can have. Having great tempo makes it much easier to stay consistent and maintain a great swing during a round.
My tempo was very inconsistent. I tend to get quiet fast at the top of the swing and my tempo is all off. The result, well, poor golf shots. Using the FlightScope Mevo I was able to monitor my tempo to improve my golf swing.

What To Do Before You Buy
Before you buy, there’s a number of things that you need to consider.
- How much you want to spend
- What you hope to get from the device
- The technology you want
- How easy it is to use
How Much You Want To Spend?
Some of the best golf swing analyzers can vary dramatically in price. Don’t just reflect the performance by the cost of the device before your consider buying a golf swing analyzer.
What You Want From Your Device?
Many golf swing analyzers work differently. Although swing analyzers have the same basic principals. i.e analyse your swing. Some swing analyzers show more data than others and present it in different ways. Some use graphs and stats and others will show 3d images and videos. I will go into this in more detail later.
The Technology You Want?
Some people are technical, some are not. It’s the same with golfers. If you are crazy about data, there’s some brilliant swing analyzers (reviewed below) that go into extreme detail in your golf swing.
How Easy Is It To Use?
Swing Analyzers require a little more care when purchasing. Why so? Well they vary in design. Some swing analyzers attach to your club, others clip to your glove or belt buckle. You will need to find out what’s right for you. But don’t worry, I’m here to help you choose the best swing analyzer for your game.
You also want a swing analyzer that’s quick and easy to set up. The last thing you need is to be googling ‘how to’ videos on your phone at the range trying to set up your analyzer.
Zepp 3D Swing Analyser
The Zepp 3D (SP) swing analyser is probably the most interesting golf sensors you can buy. It’s small, compact and works so uniquely compared to an other swing analyser.
Easy To Set Up
The Zepp 3D is so easy to set up. Everything is done via the app and works for iOS & Devices. Simply download the app and pair with your device via bluetooth.
The main standout feature is the size. It’s so small and convenient. Just simply clip it to your golf glove and you’re good to go.
Swing Analysis
The Zepp 3D (Amazon Link) offers some very comprehensive data.It will measure all the key swing metrics you need: swing plane, club head speed, tempo and more.
With the Zepp 3D you set your swing goals. Each swing you make will be compared to your goals to show how well you are performing. It will break down the key metrics of your swing and show how well each metric is performing.
Real Video Analysis
You can use your phones to record real video. You can use the real video to compare against the data from your swing Zepp device. I think it’s important to see your swings in real footage as it shows more clearly what you are doing right or wrong in your swing.
You can play the videos back in slow motion and frame by frame. These are also useful if you are going for lessons. You can show your PGA coach your data before and after your lessons.
Zepp 3D – Best Golf Swing Analyser
I think the Zedd 3D is without a doubt one of the best golf swing analyzers for the money. It’s very reasonably priced, easy to use, small and most of all performs so well.
The key seller here for me is the size and design. Swing analyzers that attached to your golf shaft can be a little off putting and add weights to the shaft.
The Zepp 3D simply clips to your golf glove, and after a few swings, you don’t even know it’s there. This allows you focus on your swing and avoid any distractions. A brilliant device that has become one of most popular golf swing analysers on the market.

SkyCaddie SkyPro Review
The SkyPro is a different style of swing analyzer compared to the Zedd 3D. It’s a small transmitter device that you attach to the shaft of your golf club, just below the grip. From there it collects data points and key swing metrics via Bluetooth. The data collected is then sent to your smartphone to review.
Design
Personally some golf club attachments can be off putting but the SkyPro inst too bad. It’s small and compact, weighing only 23.5 grams and 1.8 inches in length. It’s easily attached to your golf club by using the screw clip. This makes it easy to change from club to club quickly.
Swing Analysis
SkyCaddie have really done a brilliant job with the SkyPro. The SkyPro (Amazon Affiliate Link) doesn’t just give you feedback. It highlights the key issues in your swing (if any) and gives you guidelines/drills on how to fix the issues.
Using SkyPro’s ‘checkpoint system’, the device will provide you information to fix your swing faults using easy to understand analysis.
Key Information about your club’s position throughout the swing and highlight any unusual swing activity:
- 3D Swing view
- Compare current swing with past perfect swings
- View in full or reduced speed
- Zoom in on key swing points
Using The App
The SkyPro comes with a free mobile app to view all the data. The app pairs with your device using Bluetooth.
Using the app you will be able to see all the swing checkpoints data I just mentioned and also a 3D animation of your swing path. It’s a really cool device and performs so well.
You can dial in and view key swing info like club head speed, club face angle, swing length and shaft angle.
What I love is the alerts feature. What the alerts do is highlight the problems in your swing that could do with some adjustments. This will let you know immediately that there’s something wrong with the swing that needs some fixing.
SkyCaddie SkyPro – Final Verdict
The SkyCaddie SkyPro (SP) is without question one of the best golf swing analyzer currently available. It’s the next best thing to having a golf lesson.
What I love is how the SkyPro analyses your full swing and alerts you where you need to make some changes.
You can easily pin point the key problem areas and work on fixing them But the SkyPro offers you that bit more by showing your how to make little tweaks to perfect you swing.
The in depth analysis provides easy to understand stats and videos showing the key areas to work to get rid of those bad habits.
The SkyPro does not over complicate things, it’s easy to use and does not break the bank. The SkyPro is one of the best golf training aids that will help you improve your swing and lower your scores.

Garmin Truswing Swing Analyser
The Garmin TruSwing (SP) has become one of the most popular golf swing analysers on the market. This largely to do with compatibility they have with the ever so popular gamin golf watches.
Rather than taking out your phone after every swing to view your swing info, you can simply look at the data right there on your Garmin watch.
Swing Data
The Garmin TruSwing offers you data on the key swing metrics you would expect from some of the best swing analyzers.
Swing metrics include:
- Tempo
- Swing Path
- Club Head Speed
- Club Face Angles
To be honest, to get the full potential from this device., I think you need to own a Garmin Golf GPS watch. Do you need to own a golf GPS watch to use this? No. You can use this with any smartphone or tablet.
But using the TruSwing with a watch is so much more convenient. It really allows you to focus on your swing; rather than stopping your good swing flow to take out your phone after each swing to check how good the data was.
Using a Garmin watch you can quickly check the swing data on your wrist and quickly line up for you next shot. It works with all the modern Garmin Golf watches.
I did a review on best Garmin golf watches here.
3D Video Analysis
Similar to the SkyPro again, the TruSwing gives you a animated 3D video of your golf swing.
A cool little feature is that it allows you to do a swing comparison. The other swing is overlaid the current swing.
This is really useful, especially if you are getting some golf lessons. By the end of a lesson, you usually hit the ball quiet well (hopefully).
Let’s say you have the swing you want and that your coach is hoping you maintain. Well, you can save and compare this swing against your lesson swing while practicing. I love this.
I find after a lesson I’m hitting it great, when the coach is watching and guiding you. But when I hit the range I tend to slowly drift back to my old habits as there’s nobody to highlight the mistakes I’m making. The TruSwing is the perfect swing analyser to maintain your good swing.
Additional Data
Once of the main benefits of having a club attachment is that you can collect more data.
For example the Garmin TruSwing (SP Link) can collect some data such as the Dynamic Loft, Shaft Angle and Shaft Lean.
However, I must stress that you need to make sure the sensor is set up correctly for this.
Design
The Garmin is a similar design to the SkyCaddie SkyPro. It attaches to your golf club shaft, just below the grip. I must admit I do prefer the look of the TruSwing over the SkyPro. It’s a bit sleeker.
The Sensor itself isn’t too bid. It’s sensor is only is 6.07 x 1.59 x 2.03 cm and weights a mere 28 grams. It clips to your shaft easily and stays locked in place. Last thing you need is the sensor to be moving around the shaft, throwing off your swing data.
Garmin TruSwing – Final Verdict
The Garmin TruSwing (Amazon Link) really is a fantastic swing analyser. If you own a Garmin golf GPS watch, the TruSwing might be the best golf swing analyser for you.
The ability to pair and sync the data with your golf watch makes viewing the data so easily.
The device itself is easy to use, however one thing I would have an issue with is making sure the sensor is set up in the correct angle. But for the costs of the Garmin TruSwing you really cannot go wrong with this swing analyser.
Garmin is one of the best names in golf technology and the TruSwing should not disappoint.

Best Golf Swing Analyzers
Which one would I pick? To be honest I really like the Zepp 3D. I know it might sound silly, but I like how concealed it is. It just clips to your glove and can show you all this amazing swing data.
The Sky Caddie Pro & TruSwing are bulky and need the applied to each club and can kind of stand out like a sore thumb. I like how the Zepp 3d you can use in a more private way and not be ‘The Training Aid Guy’ at the range.
