Now if you’re reading this, you don’t want to spend too much money; you are looking for the best golf rangefinders under 200.

Owning a golf rangefinders is one of the most important things any golfer can do right now to improve their golf games. There’s plenty rangefinder options to golfers now that can vary with cost and performance.

I could give you a list of endless rangefinders under 200, but I only want to give you the best possible options worth considering. Here are what I think are the best rangefinders under 200.

TecTecTec VPro 500S

If you have read some of my previous rangefinder post, you will know I am a huge fan of TecTecTec. Their rangefinders have been featured in a number of my posts and continues to make my Best Golf Rangefinder List .

There’s a number of reasons why the Vpro 500S (SP) has made my best golf rangefinders under 200 list. There’s key reasons that you really need to know, the fantastic price and excellent performance.

Performance

The TecTecTec Vpro 500S (Check Price On Amazon) performs amazing when you consider it’s price. It’s very quick and accurate.

In 2019, TecTecTec upgraded their rangefinders performance. It now has yardage range up to 540 yards and advanced pin sensor technology. The new pinseeker tech has faster and more accurate reading overlapping subjects like hazards and trees and locating the flag stick. You get 1 yard accuracy yardages with the option for yards/meters.

The VPro 500 and VPro 500S are pretty much the exact same rangefinder. It looks the same, performs the same but the 500S has a slope feature. Slope is becoming a very desirable feature that golfers want in their rangefinders,; especially if your local golf club is very hilly.

Slope

The Slope feature works really well, and for an extra $20 compared to the standard VPro 500 I think it’s worth upgrading to the slope option. You have the option to turn the slope on/off as well, so this rangefinder is legal to use.

TecTecTec have been credited with their amazing customer service. With that and a 2 year warranty, you can really buy this rangefinder with some peace of mind with a long warranty behind you.

PROS

Returns the yardage almost instantaneously.
Very easy to use. Point it and press the power button and you get the yardage.
Excellent clarity. It is very clear and the 6x magnification makes any flag visible. You can also focus the rangefinder by turning the eye piece for a clearer sight.
Cool carry case with a belt loop
Small, light and compact.
Excellent customer support
Very reasonable price for the quality of product

CONS

Doesn’t work well in fog or rain
Can be more difficult to get a flag reading if there are trees or large sloops behind the flag

Callaway 300 Pro

A relatively new comer in the rangefinder market. Callaway as we all know are heavy hitters in club manaufacturing, but have taken the plunge into rangefinders by release golf watches and rangefinders.

I was extremely surprised at the reasonable price of the Callaway 300 (Check on Amazon Here). Especially when their golf clubs are usually priced very high. The callaway 300 is very nicely priced and just makes my best golf rangefinders under 200 by a nose, coming in at $199.99.

Performance

The Callaway 300 Pro performs very well considering the price. The 300 has what Callaway call P.A.T which stands for Pin Acquisition Technology that can lock into a pin from 300 yards away.

When you get locked onto the pin you a chirp sound to let you know you are locked into the pin. Callaway call this their ‘Birdie’ feature. To be honest it’s probably what I hate most about it. I would much rather a vibration notification like you get on the Precision NX7 Pro or Bushnell Pro XE.

The Callaway 300 (SP) gives you a +/- 1 yard accuracy up to 1000 yards with 6x scope magnification. You can scan the landscape and acquire multiple yardages to multiple targets like trees, hazards, bunkers, etc.

Slope

When you are looking for a rangefinder under 200, sometimes you need too sacrifice some features; and a lot of the time Slope is one of them. Luckily, this is not the case with the Callaway 300.

The slope function works really well and thankfully can be turned on/off so it’s legal for competition use. Having a slope feature without the ability to turn it off is completely useless in my eyes.

The Callaway 300 Pro (SP) will measure the slope elevation and display it alongside the to pin. The new plays like distance is automatically calculated and displayed for you.

Nikon Coolshot 20

The Nikon Coolshot 20 (SP) has always been a favourite of mine. It’s nice clean design appeals to many, it performs well, and is well priced. If you have read a few of my post, you will know the Coolshot 20 is one of my favourites.

I love the lightweight (under 125g), thin and compact design that fits right in your pocket.

The Coolshot is available for $150 (Find It Here), well within our rangefinder under 200 budget.

Performance

The Coolshot 20 picks up the flag very fast. Surprisingly fast for a so called budget rangefinder. It has a scanning mode that scans the area for 8 seconds and picks up the yardages of smaller targets.

The Nikon Coolshot 20 (SP) has a first priority target feature that works great for distinguishing the flagstick rather than bushes or trees in the background. It gives you that extra bit of confidence that you are locked onto your target with yardages up to 550 yards +/- 1 yardage accuracy.

Unfortunately there’s no slope feature on the Nikon Coolshot 20. To get that feature, you need to upgrade to the 40i, which costs a lot more and you can’t turn it off (can’t be used in competition). But now there’s some new brands entering the market that are offering slope features and more for less.

Precision Pro Nexus

Now I have mentioned a lot of brands I like in my best golf rangefinders under 200 list. But I haven’t mentioned Precision yet. recision are young guns in the the rangefinder market and have really taken it by storm. I love the brand and I love what the guys behind the brand stand for and why they created it.

We started with a simple question, “Why can’t anyone seem to make a quality rangefinder at a reasonable price?” There are plenty of rangefinders on the market, some are even excellent, but they’re overpriced. Ours Isn’t.

If I had to pick a rangefinder brand and model right now it would 100% be the Precision Pro NX7 (Check HERE). However it falls outside our $200 range. But they do have a lower priced golf rangefinder under 200 worth buying – The Precision Pro Nexus (SP).

Performance

What can say about the performance of the Nexus. It’s amazing. It’s accurate to 1 yard and shoots to 1/10 of a yard – For example 150.7 yards.

Using their advanced target lock, the Precision Nexus (SP) filters out background targets like trees, bushes, bunkers etc guarantee you shoot the flag the stick. With 6x magnification you can accurately acquire targets up to 400 yards to up to 1/10 of a yard. Pretty amazing really.

One thing I must mention however is the Nexus does not have a slope feature. To get this feature, you will need to upgrade to the NX7 Pro (Review Here) which is well worth checking out by the way.

Style

Now I’m not sure about you guys, but I love the loud green style of the Precision Pro Nexus (SP). It’s out there I know, but I think it really works in my opinion. It’s a really cool looking rangefinder.

The ergonomic style works really well with a grip formed around the device where you cup your hands. This gives you great control and stops it from slipping out of your hands when holding it or putting it in/off out of the golf bag.

I do have a little issue with the nexus carry case. It can be clipped to your bag, looks great an all; but the rangefinder doesn’t fit it properly. It really is a squeeze to get it in.

Warranty

The Precision guys are great and offer excellent customer service. I would like a little longer if was possible like other brands that offer 2 year warranty. Just to give me a little more confidence when buying.

WOSPORTS H-100AG Golf Rangefinder

I was intrigued when I first came across the Wosports H-100AG rangefinder. It was one of the cheapest rangefinders you can buy but seemed to have amazing ratings. You should check the reviews on Amazon HERE. I just had to buy one to try it out.

Price

For a $109.99 you are getting a long list of features, that you see on some of the premium rangefinders – long yardage ranges, slope, vibration etc.

Priced at $109.99 (Check HERE), I didn’t think it would be any good to be honest. Over the years there’s been some unknown brands attempt this but most of them are poorly made imported junk. Not this one.

Performance

The expectation here is a low quality rangefinder that does an adequate job. But it really wasn’t the case. This rangefinder was quiet quick at picking up the flagstick when paired against other rangefinders offered similar results.

It offers a yardage range up to 650 yards with 6x magnification and 7.5 degree field angle. Their advanced flag acquisition technology filters out background objects like trees, bushes, bunkers and mounts to offer deadly accurate yardages to the flag.

Like many of the Bushnell units and the NX7 Pro, this offers a vibration when locked onto the pin. When you are locked onto the pin, you get a vibration same as the Bushnell Pro XE & Precision Nx7 Pro. This lets you know that you are locked onto the flag stick and the yardage is exactly to the flagstick.

However this feature only works up to 180 yards. Which is a bit of a pity. You can still get your yardage outside of that range, you just don’t get the pin lock. With the scan mode that scans surrounding objects, it’s still pretty accurate anyway. You can swap the yardage between meters and yards also.

Slope

The Slope feature works quiet well and it can be turned off by using Mode 2 or ‘M2’. Using the Slope mode you will see the actual yardage and the adjusted or plays like yardage.

Wosports Guarantee

Wosports (SP) offers an 18 month warranty and customer service with every rangefinder sold. Even though it’s very reasonably priced, you can still be happy to know should it ever become faulty, you have a length warrant period to fall back on.

Like I said before, at first when I saw the price of this rangefinder, I thought it was going to be a piece of junk import that says it can do this and that but in reality with likely do them badly or not do them at all.

But I was wrong, it performs great and you are getting a brilliant device packed with features for a fraction of the premium brands. A very worthy addition and without a doubt one of the best golf rangefinders under 200.

Bozily VPRO-X1

The VPRO-X1 is another relatively unknown newcomer that focuses most of it’s selling efforts via the likes of Amazon (Check reviews Here).

Similar to the Wosports I mentioned above, the Bozily VPRO-X1 has become very popular on Amazon. It’s very cheaply priced and has a lot of premium features.

Performance

The Vpro-X1 (SP) has 4 scan modes. General, Slope, Vertical/Horizontal and Speed. Now you are probably wondering why the hell have I got the last 2 modes. Well because this rangefinder is also used for other activities like climbing, bird watching, racing and hunting. But let’s stick to golf for now.

Mode 1 is a general mode that works as a standard golf laser rangefinder, and Mode 2 is the Slope mode that works the same as Mode 1 but with a slope option . Switching between Mode 1 and 2 is turning the slope on/off making it legal for competition use.

The Bozily VPro-X1 (SP) has a +/- 1 yard accuracy range up to 1000 yards. It also has a flag lock that gives you the confidence that you are locked on to the flag stick. However, this only works up to 200 yards. That’s not really a massive deal breaker. You can still get the yardage, just not a flag lock. You can get distances in both yards and meters.

Warranty

Bozily have a brilliant after sales service and warranty. They offer a 24/7 support service. You can try this product risk free with a 30 day free return (via Amazon). This gives you plenty of time to try out this rangefinder.

Personally I would pick it over the Wosports mentioned above due to the fact it looks better, has a logo and the pin lock works up to 200 yards rather than 150.

Bozily VPRO-X1 is an excellent rangefinder and one of the best golf rangefinders under 200.
